David Fanning was 32 years old when he lost his battle with CF in 2002. One of David's fundraising achievements was playing 65 holes of golf, so it was a natural to hold a golf tournament in his honor. The tournament is held every year on the Woodlands course at Hawk's Prairie in Lacey.

This year's tourney was the day before the Seattle Great Strides walk, so it was a very full weekend. My usual golfing partners Tom and Russ joined me again this year despite our cringe-inducing 79 from last year.

We even managed to acquire the one player who didn't mind hacking alongside us - Rich Plunkett. Rich, along with plentiful beer, sunshine and Spongebob golf balls helped the foursome crank up the team to a blistering 76, good for dead last.

Porter's Place provided a barbecue lunch to help soothe our wounded egos and empty stomachs. The weather was absolutely perfect, though our golf play was far from it.
Robert, Rich, Tom and Russ fueling up on donuts and coffee. We probably should've found a golf lesson or two instead.
Jayne and Tammy prior to the start.

David's son Colin addressing the crowd at the barbecue.
Of course the only way to truly capture bad golf is on video. Here's ten minutes of it, you've been warned!
