The Fighting G-Gnomes and the CF Foundation office put together this second-of-its-kind event, bringing together those of us who raise money for CF research to strategize how to improve our fundraising. Bagles from Blazing Bagels in Redmond started the day off right, then Bruce Montgomey from Gilead (who also sponsored the event) filled us in on all the latest in CF research.
When Dr. Montgomery was finised we handed out our 'Head of the Class' awards, more affectionately called the Gnomeys. After that we all broke up into groups to discuss things like walker recruitment, fundraising and corporate sponsorship ideas. Robert gave a Powerpoint presentation about the fictional G-Gnomes and the real-world fundraising stats as well.
After each table summarized their discussions, Robert gave a short review of where our fundraising topics we're headed with Great Strides, which is hopefully $1,000,000 for the Washington chapter in 2007.
